Girl with the dimples.

Born and raised in Southwestern Idaho, I knew from the beginning I was different. You see not only do I have a massive dimple holed smile, both welcoming and infectious, I also grew up in a Mexican American household within a mostly white community. As one of the only brown skinned girls in my school, I was often surrounded by people who didn’t look like me. This compelled me to learn how to adapt at an early age. At home I was taught to be proud to be Mexican and at school I was taught maybe you shouldn’t be as proud.

This duality has permeated my life since childhood. The struggle for self identity among assimilation is where I learned to find my truth. I was the girl who could fit in in any room, yet struggled to be fully and authentically seen. One day I vowed I would work hard to make sure I am always seen!

Join me in my journey of self discovery through the only approach that has ever worked for me; Chingona living. Urban dictionary defines a Chingona as, to aspire. “A maker of her own camino, this is her path and she is going to follow it, regardless of what culture says.”

My life calling is to create space, community and opportunity for others to grow and achieve more. Pursuing work in diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice, I consistently work to help others find their own identity.

Currently, I reside in Seattle,Washington, with my 2 children Hailey and Oliver. I enjoy frequenting local coffee shops and cycling throughout the city and along the gorgeous Puget Sound.
